Celebration Night

There are so many birthdays in February, including my friend Ana's. Not only did I get to see my friends once this month for our V-Day dinner, but we got to hang out again for this chica's 23rd. We had dinner at Happy Sumo, then headed over to Maxwell's. We continued the after party at someone's apartment, then spent the night at Miriam's. I'll let the pictures do the talking. I apologize for all of the the drunk snapchats you may have received.

My favorite of the evening

It really was a fun night. It kind of made me feel depressed about turning 26. I don't want nights like these to end. Who says they have to though?

California Trip

We planned on making a trip to Cali over President's Day weekend. Jose ended up leaving a week earlier so he could be there for his best friend Chris's birthday. I flew in on my birthday. I had three days there and we drove home the fourth. It felt way too short, but relaxing to get away from the cold.

Leah loves BBW

We went to Kat Von D's Wonderland

It always sucks saying good bye. I had a good time with my family & friends. The kids all downloaded Google Hangouts so we can keep in touch. It's been sweet receiving their little messages and video calls.

My Valentine

This Valentine's Day was extra exciting because I hadn't seen my husband in over a week and I got to fly out and meet him in California. I was nervous and excited, full of butterflies as I got off of the plane and searched for him.

We had lunch in the sunshine

and I played love songs for him.

Valentine's Dinner

We had a Valentine's couples dinner at Jenny's. I had been looking forward to it all week. Jose was out in California so I went solo.

On my forty-five minute drive home I couldn't help but feel so grateful. I can't get over how much I love our group of friends.

A Mess of a Night

Tonight is not my night.

I have a to-do list a mile long with things I want to get done before I leave on my trip. Since my husband has been gone I've felt like I've had time and motivation to work on projects I've had in mind. I've had some special photos in frames for over a year that I finally hung and they look as awesome as I envisioned. When I'm finished with the whole project I'll post about it. My kitchen theme is traditional Mexican, so I wanted to add a few cacti or plants in authentic pottery on my windowsill. Well in order to do that, I needed to shorten the blinds I've had up for five years. It's been one of those things I never got around to and didn't care much about. Seriously of all nights why did I choose tonight to do this? I don't have instructions for the blinds anymore, or maybe I just didn't feel like looking for them, so I set out to adjust them on my own. Let's just say I really fucked them up. I decided to turn to YouTube, but didn't quickly find what I wanted so I looked at other intact blinds that I have and am trying my best to copy their set up. In the  mean time I cut my finger hanging up the intact blinds and didn't notice until I started bleeding all over the white blinds I was working on. When I went to get a band aid off of a high shelf I assumed the toilet seat was closed so I stepped on the toilet without looking and dunked my foot in the toilet water. After that I decided I better take a break to re-group and eat my burnt sweet potato chips and tilapia with a nice cup of unsweetened ice tea, but not in a glass cup because with my luck I'd probably shatter it and bleed a little more tonight.

New Moon

I've been going to yoga a few days a week with some girls from work. This is about as much spirituality as I get now a days and it's been good. In class the instructor mentioned how the following day was the new moon. She said to think of it as a mini new year and allow yourself to make a fresh start or get rejuvenated to continue a project. I looked at my moon phase app and not only were the sun, moon, and earth in alignment, but the moon was in the zodiac sign Aquarius, my sign. Now I don't really even know what that means or believe in it, but the idea was planted and I was really productive and got this unexplained drive to work on my graduate project.
