2 Cute! Happy Birthday Janeece

I’m no fun and only think about education so baby J got a book and I made these magnetic letters. They wouldn’t have been possible without help from Tiffany, who cut the letters out on her Silhouette; my mom, who helped me brainstorm whether I should sew, serge or hand stitch; and Jose who cut and kept me entertained by making up words for each letter.

Aren’t the glitter Toms adorable?

Happy 2nd Birthday Janeece! We love and miss you.

I Hope It's All In My Head

I was surprised by how many different prints and scraps I had.

I found a cute sewing project on Pinterest that uses fabric scraps. It's a surprise so I can't show you until  September 19th.

The tutorial gave the option of using glue so the fabric won't fray. I bought some and the instructions say to pierce the tip with a fine pin. I was struggling to get the pin all the way through the tip. I used my teeth to pull off the tip so I could stab from the bottom up. Glue squirted out onto my lips. I freaked out because instantly they felt numb. I read the bottle to see if it was toxic. Sure enough it says if it's swallowed you should induce vomiting and call poison control. I made sure to spit and rinse my lips, but can't be 100% sure that some didn't get ingested. I resumed sewing but I swear I started feeling sick to my stomach and dizzy. I can't decide if it was all in my head or the glue. I felt nauseous and kind of wanted to make myself throw up, but I didn't.

Shredded Chicken Tostadas

I'm pretty sure I was okay and well enough to make dinner. I finally made rice that was edible. Probably because I skipped the brown rice and used white.

Last of Daily Photos

I'm so behind on my March pics. I've been enjoying the nice weather by doing a lot of bike riding, projects around my house and I have a vacation coming up,  so this will be my last post relating to photo-a-day for awhile.

Sunglasses
Jose gave me these as a just because. We looked at them several times together, but I was just too cheap to buy them. I love them because they are red

Green
Another recipe inspired by Pinterest, The Green Monster Shake. I throw in whatever fruit I have on hand.

A Corner of Your Home
My cute little Mooch having a sip of water on the corner of the house where a majority of water drains off the roof. Definitely need to get those gutters soon.

Before/After
I found these curtains at Walmart for $3.00. I have been meaning to redo my living room with a Japanese theme and this teal color. Since I needed a before and after I finally made the time to mend these curtains. Thanks to my mom for teaching how to sew and thanks to her friend, Ester, for giving me a sewing machine.

Delicious
I highly recommend you try key lime greek yogurt. It is so good! You already know I love almonds. Actually the banana and almonds were supposed to be made into a breakfast shake, but I didn't have enough time so I just brought them along as snacks. I rarely eat bananas unless they are sliced into my ice cream.

The End!

4th of July Dress

This is #2 for Janeece. I made the baby a cute little fourth of July skirt. It took me about three hours, which wasn't too bad. I really enjoyed seeing it come together. I was happy that it fit her and looked adorable. I don't have a picture of her wearing it but here is a picture of the outfit on my model.

I would briefly like to give credit to the blogger who got me through this. *Wink Design!

For the Babies

I love making things for all of the babies in my life. I can't believe it took me so long to make something for Janeece. I did attempt to make her shoes, but her feet grow so fast that by the time I was done they didn't fit. I decided to make her a book because it's so important to read to your children. I think it sparks imagination and interest. It's never to early to start them on the path of knowledge and success.

The next thing I made was an infant carrier cover for my new little cousin Enrique.

Here he is

It's been fun!

Easter Gifts

I got a chance to do Jimmy and Leah's Easter gifts tonight. I just need to do Lani's and Janeece's and that takes care of my darling nieces and nephew.

I made Jimmy a tooth fairy pillow.

Lani says Tangled is her and Leah's favorite movie. There is no way I could make this dress fit Lani, so Leah gets it.

Don't worry Lani I have something special for you.

On another note my cat Mooch dislikes me most days. I think she was upset that Jose had to work and she had to hang out with me. So much for studying now.

My 1st Completed Sewing Project

I've completed my first sewing project. I made a baby blanket and shoes for Adalynn Guadalupe Camacho, Merly & Braulio's baby. She was born April 6, 2011 at 1:01PM, 5lbs 8oz, 18in. Here are a few pictures of my work and the new baby.

I like this new hobby and want to continue. The next projects I'm doing are Easter gifts for my nieces and nephew. I only have two weeks so I better get a move on. I will write more about it later. I don't want to spoil the surprise.
